In between Playa de Palma-s´Arenal and C´an Pere Antoni (in front of the cathedral of Sant Sue) are a few nice beaches with a promenade, which is nice for walking, running, cycling or roller blading.
The beaches have white fine sand and the water is clear and is of a good quality.

Illetes
This beach is situated close to Palma in a tourist resort. There are all kinds of services and facilities and they have built extra terraces for sunbathing. Here you can enjoy the fine sand and rocks and you can swim to the island Sa Caletas.

A small and not so busy beach with gold/yellow coloured sand, which is surrounded by pine trees. Close to this beach you will see the island Sa Caletas.

Next to this well-equipped beach you find the harbour, which is famous of the large boats that are moored here. The beach is easy to reach in a wheelchair and there are some bars and restaurants close by. It is possible to swim to the island in front of the beach (d´en Salis).

Costa d´en Blanes
This is the beach of Puerto Portals and the residential area of Portals Nous. It's a very nice beach surrounded by different activities, like volleyball, and for the kids there is a Marineland. From the beach you can hear the dolphins.

Son Caliu
This cave has the same name as the local area. Frequently visited by the local residents and the hotel guests. The beach has white, fine sand and rocks. To enter the water you first have to cross the rocks.

Very busy beach, where you can do a lot more than just sunbath. There are a wide range of water sports or you can take a trip on the glass bottom boat. On the wide, traffic free promenade you will find lots of shops, restaurants and bars.

Portals Vells
A cove made up of 3 unspoilt beaches, surrounded by a pine grove. The seabed is quite flat, the water is very clear, ideal space for snorkelling and fishing. This area offers many possibilities for walking on the cliffs or through the pine grove hills.
In 1976 the film The Magician, with famous actors like Anthony Quinn, Micheal Caine and Candice Bergen was shot at El Mago. About 100 m to the left of the beach you can still find some of the buildings that were used in the film.

Cala Figuera
Unspoilt small beach, which is surrounded by vertical cliffs. The cove is popular for anchoring boats, which should only come here in the summer, so as not to interfere the bird-mating season. To access this beach you must go right to the end of the lighthouse road.

Most of the roads lead you to one of the 2 big beaches, with Punta des Carabiners splitting them. There is a paved promenade, which is lined up with palm trees. The sand is fine and white.

Cala Fornells
Small beach, which is surrounded by a lot of vegetation. From this place you have a fine view of Peguera. On the rocks they have built some terraces to enlarge the sunbathing area.

There are many hotels and apartment built around this beach, although it is still a quiet beach. There is a small island close to the beach with a bar, which is connected by footbridge to the beach.

This cove is situated close to Cala Marmassen. In the area there are built a lot of luxurious villas. Steps lead down to the beach which has fine golden coloured sand.

Quiet beach, close to the harbour and the village of Andratx. Mostly visited by residents of the luxurious complex Sa Mola. Unlike of Cala Llamp, this beach is shingle and not sand.

Small cove, with shingle beach is accessed by an earth ramp. This place is separated from the tourist zone of Sant Elm, in a quiet area with some small houses on the beachfront.

The biggest beach of Sant Elm. The beach is kept clean and has white, fine sand. There is a large variety of services and facilities, like restaurants, parking, etc.

Sa Dragonera
Dragonera Island is 4 km long and up to 1 km high. The flora and fauna on this island is the same as on Mallorca. Sa Dragonera is a conversation area, so there are no restaurants. To visit the island you take a tourist boat from Sant Elm or Port Andratx. For visiting with private boats you have to be make an official request to the Mallorcan Council.
Cala Basset
Wonderful spot for anchoring boats. You can also access this shingle beach by foot. From Sant Elm it takes more or less 25 minutes to get here. From the cala you can see the lighthouse of Sa Dragonera. The water and seabed are crystal clear and that makes this place perfect for snorkelling.

Son Bunyola
This is an unspoilt beach, which can only be accessed on foot from Es Port d´Es Canonge. The gravel beach is surrounded by forest and open sea. It has a jetty and the shore is usually lined with small fishing boats.

Puerto de Valldemossa (Sa Marina)
It is one of the few coves in the mountains of the Tramuntana that has a port, but it is not so well-protected. It is a small fishing port with a small rocky cove. The beach has volcanic sand and the surrounding area is picturesque, with small houses and restaurants.

Cala Deiá
The beach is a mix of yellow-golden sand and pebbles. In the summer you can eat fresh fish here, in one of the 2 restaurants, caught by the local fisherman. There is a parking 300 m from the beach, and is a nice place for snorkelling.

Large unspoilt beach with rocks and pebbles. The area is surrounded by a vegetation of pine trees, some fig-trees and natural terraces, where you can go nude sunbathing. The water is very clear.

Sóller
This large beach is situated in the same bay as Sóller port. Buoys mark the boundary between the bathing area and boats. The beach has fine, yellow-gold sand and some palm-trees will give some shade. You can access the beach by taking the small train that runs along the bay to the town.
